About our programs
Love of Literature is the only non-profit book club for Black youth (ages 7 - 18) in Canada. We provide a safe space for youth to connect with their peers and review books with Black characters and relatable themes.
Representation in literature matters! Our mission is to spark curiosity in Black youth and inspire life-long learners to read books that celebrate, include and represent Black culture. The book club fills a need in the community by improving literacy skills, building confidence and fostering the love of reading in Black youth.
This book club is great for reluctant readers who need a little motivation and strong readers who enjoy group discussions. The registration fee for the reading program includes:
-
Six one-hour virtual sessions
-
All reading material
-
Virtual visit from a special guest or author
-
Love of Literature bookbag
-
Love of Literature Journal
-

We are here to help. Contact us if you need financial assistance, or would like to register two or more children from the same household for our programs.
